چکیده

The fast generalized Fourier transform algorithm is extended to twodimensional data cases. The algorithm provides a fast and nonredundant alternative for the simultaneous time-frequency and spacewavenumber analysis of the data with time-space dependencies. The transform decomposes the data based on the local slope information, and therefore making it possible to extract weight function based on dominant dips from the alias-free low frequencies. By projecting the extracted weight function to the alias-contaminated high frequencies and utilizing a least-squares fitting algorithm, a beyond-alias interpolation method is accomplished. Synthetic and real data examples are provided to examine the performance of the proposed interpolation method.

Fast Generalized Fourier Interpolation of Nonstationary Seismic Records

SUMMARY We propose a fast and efficient method for the interpolation of nonstationary seismic data. The method uses the fast generalized Fourier transform FGFT to identify the space-wavenumber evolution of nonstationary spatial signals at each temporal frequency. The nonredundant nature of FGFT renders a big computational advantage to this interpolation method. A least-squares fitting scheme is...

Ulti - Dimensional R Econstruction of S Eismic D Ata

In seismic data processing, we often need to interpolate and extrapolate missing data at spatial locations. The reconstruction problem can be posed as an inverse problem where from inadequate and incomplete data we attempt to reconstruct the seismic wavefield at locations where measurements were not acquired. This thesis presents a wavefield reconstruction scheme called minimum weighted norm in...

Minimum weighted norm interpolation of seismic records

In seismic data processing, we often need to interpolate and extrapolate data at missing spatial locations. The reconstruction problem can be posed as an inverse problem where, from inadequate and incomplete data, we attempt to reconstruct the seismic wavefield at locations where measurements were not acquired. We propose a wavefield reconstruction scheme for spatially band-limited signals. The...

Evaluation of a New 5D Seismic Volume Reconstruction Method: Tensor Completion versus Fourier Reconstruction

Multi-dimensional Fourier interpolators have become the industry standard for 5D seismic volume reconstruction. However, room for improvement exists and a few key aspects of seismic data reconstruction do require additional study. The latter includes stability in the presence of coherent noise and statics, recovery conditions for extremely sparse data sets and computational efficiency. This pre...

Evaluation of a Fast Algorithm for the Eigen-Decomposition of Large Block Toeplitz Matrices with Application to 5D Seismic Data Interpolation

We present a fast 5D (frequency and 4 spatial axes) reconstruction method that uses Multichannel Singular Spectrum Analysis / Cazdow algorithm. Rather than embedding the 4D spatial volume in a Hankel matrix, we propose to embed the data into a block Toeplitz form. Rank reduction is carried out via Lanczos bidiagonalization with fast block Toeplitz matrix-times-vector multiplications via 4D Fast...
